November December 2018

November 28 , 2018 - Our speaker will be Henry Hanson, a fellow Rambler. The title of his talk will be, The Pilgrims before Plymouth . Most of us think we know the story of the Pilgrims and Thanksgiving. But what really happened to the Pilgrims  that forced them to leave  northern England  and go to Holland before coming to Massachusetts is a fascinating story that Henry Hanson will tell us.

German Genealogy – It may come as a surprise how many of “us” share a piece if Germany. If your grandparents spoke German, does that mean they were “German”? Contraaaaa, nex, ni, no! It means they probably learned German because that was the language those around them spoke. They probably also spoke another language. Come share your story (in German). My grandmother spoke to us kids in German, and sometimes Hungarian, and maybe other languages.
