Note:  Dorothy Gunter Allen Armstrong, a descendant of the Batte Family, gave the Bibles to Sam Sharp,  a Rambler member.  Her mother, Mrs. Gunter, devoted an enormous amount of time to her genealogy and traced one line back to the 1100's in England.

Dorothy celebrated her 90 years just last week.

Note:  Dorothy Gunter Allen is in the 1934 Bible note written by her mother, Louise Batte Gunter (Mrs. Percy Glyndon Gunter).  The 1907 Bible shows the marriage of her mother, Louise Batte and Percy Glyndon Gunter in Nov. 1916.

Note:  These Bibles will be given to The Carnegie Center of Brazos Valley History for safekeeping.  They will be stored in the vault there and anyone wanting to view a Bible must telephone Carnegie to reserve a time.
